NEW YORK(December 16, 2020) – During the 2020 MLS End-of-Year Waivers Process on Wednesday, FC Cincinnati used their first overall pick to selected 20-year-old New York Red Bulls midfielder Ben Mines.
A Red Bulls Academy Product, Mines has a combined total of 57 appearances, 20 starts, five goals, and six assists for the New York Red Bulls and New York Red Bulls II since 2016.
In the academy ranks, he scored seven goals and dished out eight assists for Red Bulls II, winning the Golden Boot award at the 2017 Generation adidas Cup, where he led Red Bulls II to a third-place finish in the highest tier, the Champions Division.
Should FC Cincinnati come to an agreement with Mines, he will be added to FC Cincinnati’s roster as a Homegrown Player.
